Hellooo im Dhasna , 18 SOON and am currently a year 2 student in Singapore Polytechnic , Diploma in Chemical Engineering 🫣 In this blog , i'll be sharing with you all on my current progress and thoughts about a new module im taking - Introduction to Chemical Products Design. Firstly , what I really want to takeaway from this module is to be familiarised with the key features of Fusion360 application and be able to use it on my own time without guidance. By the end of this module, I want to know how I can research and think critically to come up with solutions to current or arising problems for products customers use on a daily basis. So talking about how to come up with solutions I learnt about identifying pain points in products. Pain points simply mean problems that customers encounter when using a product which can lead to them being irritated and not wanting to use the product anymore. I had my own experience when i tried to order Mcdonald's through their app and my order was unsuccessful but the money transaction was successful, when i brought this up to customer service they took a good 2 weeks to take action and this infuriated me as i paid for nothing and my call for help wasn't taken seriously. This made me delete the app and not trust it anymore . Moving on I also learnt about product classification , this means that any product can be categorised under commodities, molecular products,micro-structured products and chemical devices.
As of right now , my group and I have only done part 1 but we are looking into the topic of waste treatment , converting waste food into renewable energy. To proceed with part 1, we all had to do literature reviews on 5 different articles and I have realised that it is important to do so to gain better insights and have better knowledge on the topic from people who are experienced and qualified. It also ensures that my group mates and I do not accidentally plagiarise details from the article . Our group has been paying attention to Tuckman’s group formation model that we have learnt in our previous CC modules which has helped us all track our progress. Thank you for reading my blog and see y’all in my next blog !!!!
